Camp Life

  • What happens when it rains?

When we experience inclement weather we take shelter under the pavilions in the park. While we don’t go out on the water in hazardous conditions (i.e. thunderstorms), we do still sail in light rains and passing showers. We rarely lose a whole day of sailing to rain, and we also have plenty of activities for the kids while ashore. They can develop their sailing skills by learning knots, splicing, chart-reading, etc.

  • If I have more than one child coming to camp, will my kids be in the same group?

Because our groups are divided by age, your kids may or may not be placed together. You can request to have your kids placed in the same group, but please be advised that our policy is to place the older child in the younger group.

What is the sailor to counselor ratio?

We have approximately 6 sailors for every counselor.

  • Will my child wear a life jacket?

Yes, sailors are required to wear life jackets at all times while on the docks and on the sailboats. Life jackets are provided for each child, but they may bring their own if they prefer.

Registration

  • Is there anything I need to do to complete my child’s registration?

Yes! Once your child is signed up for a session of sailing camp, you will need to complete the following forms and waivers:

      • Medical Information Form
      • Permission Slip
      • Parental Consent Waiver
      • Refund Policy Waiver

Both forms and both waivers are available on your online account. In addition, please note that upon registration, you must pay your balance at least 60 days in advance of your child’s first day of camp.

Using Your Online Account

  • How can I access my online account?

You can log in to your online account here to pay your balance, complete supplemental forms, edit your registration, or sign up for additional sessions of sailing camp.

  • I’m having trouble logging into my online account. How else can I pay my balance?

You are welcome to call our office at (914) 271-6868 with payment information. If it is convenient for you, or if you would like to pay with a check or cash, you may also pay in person.

  • I’m having trouble logging into my online account. How else can I submit my supplemental forms and waivers?

If you experience any difficulty accessing the supplemental forms on your online account, you can find PDFs of the forms here. You can then email them to us at gosailing@crotonsailing.com or drop them off at our office at least a week before your child’s first day of camp.
